Thursday October 9 : Yolano Group Meeting.

The Sierra Club Yolano Group Management Committee will meet this Thursday, October 9 from 7 to 9 in the home of Alan Pryor, 2736 Brentwood Place. The agenda will include updates and/or discussions on the Cortina Ridge landfill proposal, the issue of wood burning in Davis, the Berryessa/Snow Mountain National Conservation Area and other conservation efforts, Climate Action Team activities, the Paul Hawkins article on "Natural Capitalism", the Green Summit, the Environmental Film Festival, and our Holiday potluck and film. The public is invited to all Yolano Group meetings.

Saturday October 18: The Wild and Scenic Film Festival Returns!

Mark your calendars now! For the second year the largest environmental film festival in North America is coming to Davis, California. Join Tuleyome and the Sierra Club Yolano Group as they host the Second Annual Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival Tour at the Veteran's Memorial Theatre at 4 p.m. for the kid's matinee and 7 p.m. for the evening program on Saturday, October 18, 2008. Thursday October 23: Davis Climate Action Public Forum

At the Veterans Memorial Center. More details will be announced soon on the City of Davis and this Website.


Saturday November 15: Green Summit - An Environmental Action Plan for the Future

Local environmental organizations including Tuleyome, Yolo Audubon Society, Sierra Club, California Native Plant Society, the Burrowing Owl Preservation Society, Environmental Council of Sacramento, Planning and Conservation League, Habitat 2020, Putah Creek Council, and Sacramento Tree Foundation will be gathering to discuss the state of our environment and how we can attain a healthy environment and sustainable lifestyle for the future. The event is also sponsored by the City of Woodland.

Join us, participate and help identify the key goals and strategies to achieve our objectives for the future: Saturday, November 15th, from 9 am to 5 pm; in the Woodland Community and Senior Center, 2001 East Street, Woodland, CA.
