Friday 

1:30.  Hike to Donner Peak -- meet in the meadow.

6 pm.  Dinner in the dining room.

7:30 pm.   After dinner speaker:  Bill Oudegeest, Donner Summit Historical Society,  "Constructing the 1867 Transcontinental Railway Tunnel 6"  Bill is the creator of the wonderful 20 Mile Museum.

8:30 pm.  Update on Royal Gorge by the Truckee Donner Land Trust - dining room

9 pm.  Stories around the campfire in the meadow; S'mores and brandy

During Saturday and Sunday there are a number of wonderful hikes, many with themes, organized by Rick Ramos.

On Saturday there will be a large menu of hikes with interesting themes. A photography instructor will lead a hike and instruct participants on framing a picture in the forest and mountains. Also a geologist will lead a hike and talk on the geology of the area.

There will be more hikes on Sunday morning, of shorter duration

 

Saturday

7:30 am.  Prepare sack lunch in the living room.

8:00 am.  Breakfast in the dining room.

9:15  HIKES.  Meet in the north meadow.

1 pm.  Swim in Flora Lake

3 pm.  Wine and cheese reception at Hutchinson Lodge.
           Music by well known cellist David Eby

4:30 - Walk the Joel Brody Memorial Trail.

 

6 pm.  Special Dinner.

7:30 pm.  Evening speaker: Chris McMorris, Architectural Historian,"Historic Preservation and the Clair Tappaan Lodge" (Living room)

Silent Art Auction 

Friday and Saturday.  Paintings donated by artists from California, Oregon, and Nevada.  Organized by Nevada City artist Susan Barry.  All proceeds benefit Clair Tappan Lodge.  Susan will also be offering "mini art" projects throughout the day.

Costs

Entire Event - $155
 

Saturday only (all meals and events) - $50
 

Entire event rate includes 2 nights lodging and 6 meals and all of the weekend events and activities. 

First provided meal will be dinner on Friday night.  Last meal included will be lunch on Sunday. 

If you are not able to make it to the lodge by 6 pm on Friday, you may choose to have dinner on Sunday.  It is important to let the lodge know which dinner you choose at the time of reservation.
