July 27, Sunday - Moderate Day Hike Lake Margaret and Kirkwood Lake.
8-9 miles & 700' elev. gain. We will visit the waterfall, traverse along upper Caples Creek and then find our way through the wildflowers to Lake Margaret. This is a long hike with no turning back and many sections are off trail. Please be prepared to stay with the group. If we make good time, swimming is an option. August 9, Saturday - Moderate Day Hike Fleming Meadows Trail.
Two options, 3.5-4 miles 500' elev. gain or 7-8 miles 1,100 elev. gain. The trail consisits of several optional hikes throughout a 1,000 acres of forest and Fleming Meadows. Trail tops out on a nice ridge from where you can see Jenkinson Lake and the Crystal Range. More difficult hike goes further into Camp Creek Canyon. August 23, Saturday - Moderately Strenuous Meiss Meadows and Showers Lake.
The hike starts from Carson Pass and follows the ridgeline west of Meiss Meadows. From there we will conect with the PCT north of Showers Lake and return to Carson Pass via the PCT. For information on hike details, time and meeting place call Si Zirkle at (530)558-5275.
