The mural was painted on the wall opposite the summer entrance by Susan Barry. The mural was fashinoned after the history on the Hutchinson wall:

"Highway 40 was closed by snow for many weeks during the early years; access was by
night train discharging people in the dark of early morning. 
They ate breakfast with railroad men at 'the Chinaman's' under the snow sheds."   

The mural was framed by Wally Juchert.  The redwood for the sign and the mural frame were recycled from the original  redwood water tank (1925).
