Golden Gate Recreation Area, Marin County Headlands

Meeting Time: Saturday, April 4^th, at 8:30 AM

Meeting Places: Parking lot at 11^th and P Streets in downtown Sacramento (Intermediate meeting place in Vacaville at 9:15 AM - contact Eric Emerson for directions to Davis Street Park-and-Ride in Vacaville)

Directions:  When reserving, please advise the leader if you are willing to drive or will need to carpool. Drivers will be provided with directions at the meeting locations. We will carpool west on I-80, then west on Hwy 37, then 101 south and exit at Sausalito/GG Rec Parks exit. After exiting we will take the first left and follow Cozumel Road into the recreation area. · Vista parking area  -  GG bridge, San Francisco, Alcatraz

· Hawk Hill - Last vista pt before rd is one-way downhill rd (Trail approx .5 uphill - valley views)

· Upper Fisherman's – Black Sand Beach trail

· Cozumel off road views, bunkers, Bonita Cove (view of Lighthouse)

· Point Bonita Lighthouse – picnic areas, parking, 1.2 mi trail to Lighthouse

· Battery Mendell – battery and cliff view

· Battery Alexander – walking trails, beach &valley views

· Rodeo Lagoon - 1.5 walking loop – park at Marin Headlands Visitor Center

· Marine mammal center – beach access, ice plant, cliffs. muscles, tide pools

Things to Bring:

· Lunch – There are no food sales in the park

· Money for carpool drivers and possible dinner stop on way back

· Good walking shoes and appropriate dress for seasonal mild temperatures and possible windy areas
