The Sierra Club Mother Load Chapter, Photography Section is hosting a two day intermediate photography workshop on the Sonoma Coast. This springtime workshop is being held at the Stillwater Cove Ranch located near Jenner, California and just south of Salt Point State Park. The ranch is a rustic working ranch providing opportunities for photographing peacocks, sheep and the redwood grove that surrounds the property. It is a two minute walk to photograph the cliffs at Stillwater Cove. In addition workshop participants will be taken to several scenic locations for photographing the gorgeous coastline and wildflowers.

The workshop instruction will be provided by Jennifer Wu and Wendy Desormeaux, both Sierra Club Outing Leaders. Jennifer Wu has been a professional Photographer for over 15 years. Her award winning fine art photographs have been exhibited at numerous galleries and juried art festivals including the Viewpoint Gallery and the Marin Art Festival. Jennifer teaches photography classes at California State University, Sacramento, Cosumnes River College, Aspen Photography Workshops and Betterphoto.com.

Wendy Desormeaux has professionally photographed weddings, portraits and nature photography.  Her work has been displayed in various galleries and she was voted the best Photographer of the Show at a local art show. The instructors will be available during the field sessions to help you implement the techniques learned in the workshop.

Comments from participants at the July 2007 workshop at this location included, “Jennifer’s is an excellent trainer, well spoken and extremely knowledgeable. I learned a great deal from her especially how to get some depth of field. Wendy is a pistol, irreverent and hilarious. Together they provide the yin and yang of training.” Lynn.
